The Signed Language Phonology Workshop will take place July 6-8, 2011 at l'Université de Bretagne-Sud in Vannes, France.

We invite those interested in the study of signed language phonetics and phonology to come discuss current theories and practices from throughout Europe and the world.

Schedule:
The workshop will open with a presentation/review of the Johnson and Liddell phonological representation system by Bob Johnson, which will be followed by three half-day mini-workshops discussing the use of technology when notating and analysing phonetic/phonological data, an analysis session where participants bring signs from their own data to analyse and discuss, and a group challenge to annotate 20 seconds of a surprise video clip.

Workshop Languages:
This workshop will be conducted in English and International Sign (IS).
